During this year’s festival, audiences in Bolesławiec will be able to attend two concerts. The first will take place on 10 September at the Forum cinema and will feature the Leipzig Synagogal Choir. It will be an excellent opportunity to discover Jewish and Hebrew folklore as well as synagogue music. The choir will perform, among others, songs by Charles Davidson, Samuel Alman and Werner Sander.
The second concert in Bolesławiec will have a completely different character. On 13 September, the Hungarian instrumental ensemble Capella Savaria will perform at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, presenting Baroque works, including Bach’s “Concerto in D minor for violin and orchestra.” Those for whom two concerts are definitely not enough will be able to go to Kliczków on 11 September and listen to medieval and Renaissance music performed by the Estonian vocal and instrumental ensemble Rondellus.
During a press conference held on Friday, Lidia Geringer d'Oedenberg, Director General of the Wratislavia Cantans Festival, announced a competition for the most interesting concert review. The winner will receive an invitation for two people to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. “For one year, every Member of the European Union has the opportunity to invite 90 people. I intend to invite people involved in social life. Naturally, I will not be the one choosing these people; they will be selected by the media and various associations,” said Lidia Geringer d'Oedenberg.
