The “Na Ludową Nutę” event is organized by the Gminny Ośrodek Kultury i Sportu and, as every year, hosted by Beata Widera. The aim of this celebration is not only to showcase the municipality’s folk ensembles, but also to support the tradition of singing together and developing this passion. This year, in addition to their repertoire, the folk ensembles had to prepare a humorous sketch.

The group from Ocice handled this brilliantly. The sketch it presented was dramatic and blood-curdling. By mistake, a handsome hunter shot his beloved instead of a doe. When he discovered what he had done, he was so distraught that he shot himself in the head. The group from Ocice also performed one song together with the five-member ensemble of Dolnośląska Szkoła Tradycji, with which it collaborates.

The groups from Dobra and Żeliszów presented a medley of folk songs about love and the mishaps that befall those in love. The “Leśne nastroje” ensemble also sang a ballad by Adam Mickiewicz.

Gminny Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Jutrzenka sang “Kaczkę dziwaczkę” to a folk tune, while Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Ziemi Bolesławieckiej presented “The Smurfs” in a folk style.

The performances were admired by wójt Andrzej Dutkowski, deputy wójt Roman Jaworski and Bolesławiec municipality councillors: Grażyna Łucka, Bożena Długosz, Agnieszka Miszkiewicz, Henryk Ostrowski, Rafał Janiec, Andrzej Szwedo and the head of the school in Kruszyn, Dariusz Kunaszko.

A humorous surprise not only for the audience but also for the invited guests was an invitation to recite Jan Brzechwa’s poem “Na straganie” together. After the energetic poem, Gminny Zespół Pieśni i Tańca “Jutrzenka” performed on stage. Their folk rendition of “Kaczka dziwaczka” was a masterpiece and drew a storm of applause from the audience.

The final stage performance was by Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Ziemi Bolesławieckiej, which put on a show worthy of Hollywood. Their “Smurfy i magiczny taniec-krakowianiec” surprised audiences with its intensity, beautiful costumes, excellent acting scenes and—Gargamel’s role cannot be omitted here—well-chosen, well-performed music.

The script, set design and production of the performance were created by Elżbieta Tor and Sławomir Ratajski. The ensemble wishes to thank everyone who contributed to making the costumes and set, particularly the parents and some of the group’s oldest young members. The audience’s thunderous applause reflected the standard of the performance. In addition to congratulations, all the ensembles also received commemorative diplomas and sweets in baskets. The event ended with a colorful musical procession through the streets of Kruszyn.
