The main theme of the seminar was international cooperation to support developing countries. The state in which we stayed, Rhineland-Palatinate, is involved in a project supporting Rwanda. The trip gave us the opportunity to learn about various forms of EU development cooperation. We also found out how we ourselves can get involved in providing such assistance.
Angelika: The atmosphere during the activities was very positive. The language barrier was broken down immediately; everyone felt equal to one another. And everyone took part in the activities to the best of their ability.
Korneliusz: All stereotypes were eliminated. The only difference between people from different countries is their language. After a week, we were like one big international family.
Klaudia: Each activity began with games that helped us get to know one another. We formed friendships that we will maintain.
Katarzyna: We completed many projects in international groups. I learned several basic phrases in other languages.
Aleksandra: In addition to the activities, a trip to Mainz and Marksburg Castle was also organised. This gave us the opportunity to discover new and interesting places and integrate with the other exchange participants while sightseeing together.
Karolina: Although I do not speak English very well, it did not bother the others. They were kind to me and helped whenever I did not understand something.
Bartosz: In my opinion, the most interesting moment of the week was dancing. We had a wonderful time learning dances originating from different cultures. Spaniards, Poles, Lithuanians, Hungarians, Turks, Germans—so many cultures, yet people are all the same…
Kamil: Before the trip, I had not realised how interesting it could be to meet people of other nationalities. The week was very exciting; I was able to improve my English and play basketball with people from other countries.
Roman: During the trip to Bad Marienberg, I learned that the language barrier does not exist. Although we had not known one another before, we were able to find common ground and shared interests. Everyone supported one another, which created a wonderful atmosphere.
Tomasz: During the week we spent here, we learned a lot. The entire trip was an amazing experience for me. An opportunity like this does not come often; we were lucky to be able to come here.
