As can be seen in the photographs, these are dumps (especially the parking area in front of Stara Oleszna). Shameful and embarrassing. Some people think that Bolesławiec municipality is so ineptly maintaining the roads. Meanwhile, the County Office is responsible for keeping the voivodeship road clean.

We asked the spokesperson for Bolesławiec County, Katarzyna Biegasiewicz-Mularczyk, for comment. “We regret that such a situation occurred. Bolesławiec County’s road services dealt with the matter immediately. The garbage was cleaned up and taken to a landfill,” the spokesperson said.

She added: “Unfortunately, the problem is greater. Drivers stopping at the truck parking area near Trzebień, along voivodeship road 297, choose the simplest way to dispose of their garbage—without the slightest sense of guilt, they throw it into the nearby ditches. As a result, waste, empty bottles and everything that is no longer needed in a spacious truck ‘land’ in them. Despite regular cleaning, the situation keeps recurring. Together with the voivodeship services, we are looking for an effective way to deal with so-called litterbugs. We are holding talks with the Lower Silesian Road and Railway Service to find the best solution to this problem. Warning signs and monitoring of parking areas may help, although fighting a lack of basic civility and proper habits is the most difficult.”
