This year’s edition of the competition attracted 50 violinists from Poland and abroad, who compete in two age groups – up to 16 and 19 years of age.

For years, the Legnica Young Paganini competition has been regarded as one of the most important events of its kind in the country. The event is organized by the Music School Complex with the support of, among others, the Legnica City Office and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Approximately 550 violinists from Poland and around the world have taken part in previous editions of the competition.

In addition to its educational objectives, the competition is intended to promote young artists by organizing prestigious concerts with symphony orchestras: the Opole Philharmonic, the Sudeten Philharmonic in Wałbrzych and the Leopoldinum Orchestra, as well as a recital at the International Festival of Young Art in Bełchatów. The main aim of the International Young Paganini Violin Competition is to support Polish arts education by enabling talented performers to engage with top-class teachers and internationally renowned authorities.

Each year, the competition concludes with a gala concert by the winners. This year’s final will take place on Tuesday, April 28, at 5:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Music School Complex at the Knights’ Academy. Admission is free.
