On Sunday, the Nysa Euroregion Modern Pentathlon Championships were held at the Water Sports Centre on Spacerowa Street. A total of 458 people took part in the competition. In addition to the modern pentathlon championships (running and swimming), tournaments in beach volleyball and boule, volleyball and water basketball, as well as swimming and underwater swimming competitions, were also held.

Winners of the Nysa Euroregion Modern Pentathlon Championships among women and men:

  • 9–12 age category: Marta Jaworska and Dawid Pawluk
  • 13–15 age category: Agnieszka Janicka and Paweł Bojanowski
  • 16–20 age category: Kaja Iwan and Yevgen Nikitin
  • 21–34 age category: Paulina Bednarowicz and Rafał Śmiałkowski
  • 35–49 age category: Dorota Bernat and Zbigniew Turczyński
  • Over-50 age category: Zbigniew Glinicki.

In the President of the Nysa Euroregion Beach Volleyball Tournament, the Jelenia Góra team, consisting of Dominika Jaworska and Iza Nowicka, won the women’s category. Bezele, consisting of Mateusz Zięba and Grzegorz Wąsik, won the cadet category. Delfinet (Patryk Baran and Krzysztof Baran) proved unbeatable in the junior category.

The Kaczorki duo (Magdalena Kudra and Patryk Baran) won the Boule Tournament. In the Water Volleyball Tournament, AKS, consisting of Janusz Wojciechowski, Kacper Wojciechowski and Robert Walkowiak, took first place among the younger players. The Szekobele team, consisting of Łukasz Kozioł, Bartosz Lehmann and Marcin Bender, won the junior category. In the Water Basketball Tournament, Gofry (Ela Grochowa, Karolina Szewczyk, Anna Jamróz and Magdalena Tyberek) won the younger players’ category. Among the juniors, the Chcielibyśmy Wygrać team won, with Krzysztof Baj, Kamil Rudnicki, Łukasz Zięba and Bartosz Kuc.

Agnieszka Janicka won the overall classification in the Swimming Competition. Marek Kozłowski took first place among the men. A record was set in the Underwater Swimming Record-Breaking event. Gabriela Jośko swam 66.5 metres without taking a breath. Among the men, Pavlo Shramenko covered the greatest distance. His result was 62.2 metres.

The organiser of the Nysa Euroregion Modern Pentathlon Championships was the Municipality of Bolesławiec. The event was handled by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. The event was co-financed by European Union funds as part of the Interreg III A Poland–Saxony project.
