The project “Construction of a nature trail with infrastructure in the municipal park at Parkowa Street in Bolesławiec” includes the construction of a nature trail based on the completed design, namely:

  • the production, delivery and installation of a dendrophone and four interactive educational boards, whose themes concern plant species found in the park at Parkowa Street and animals that can be encountered in Bolesławiec. Board themes:
    • What tree is this? (e.g. European hornbeam, broad-leaved lime, London plane, European beech, small-leaved lime, wych elm)
    • What shrub is this? (e.g. fragrant mock-orange, European fly honeysuckle, Japanese spiraea, white dogwood, common privet)
    • What bird is this? (e.g. Eurasian nuthatch, short-toed treecreeper, common redstart, spotted flycatcher, common nightingale, great spotted woodpecker)
    • What insect is this? (e.g. hermit beetle, green clubtail, Cordulia aenea, scarce swallowtail, flattened red-winged skimmer, buff-tailed bumblebee).
  • the creation of a website dedicated to the trail, containing content related to the information presented on the interactive educational boards. In addition to the home page, five subpages will be created describing individual stops along the trail. The subpages will also contain educational activities, attractive in both form and content, for preschool and early-primary-school children. The website will be hosted on the Bolesławiec City Hall server.

The project also includes the implementation of the “Nature Around Us” educational programme by the Municipal Centre for Environmental Education in Bolesławiec, intended for schools and kindergartens in Bolesławiec. The programme aims to introduce participants to local flora and fauna, promote appropriate behaviour towards nature and protect the local environment. An art competition entitled “Nature Around Us” will also be held for preschool children and pupils in grades 1–3.

The Wrocław Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management awarded a PLN 27,800 grant for the construction of the nature trail, while the Public Procurement and Municipal Investments Department of UM Bolesławiec is carrying out repairs to the surfaces of the park paths:

  • milling off the top layer of old and heavily damaged pavements and laying new concrete edging (921 m²)
  • laying an asphalt surface (1,418.40 m²).
