Classes will be held every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. Meeting point: the municipal stadium on Spółdzielcza Street. The first class this Sunday (March 29).
Thanks to the courtesy of the city authorities and the MOSiR director, everyone will be able to use the changing rooms.
The training sessions will be led by MKS Bolesłavia coach Dariusz Łomański and Krzysztof Kozdra, a finalist in the Polish Championships 3,000-meter steeplechase.
– Unfortunately, Bartek Gruman had to give up leading the classes. He is currently involved in the very important “Athletics for Everyone” project, which primarily activates school-age young people, and he has many other responsibilities. However, I know that as soon as he has some free time, he will be happy to join us – says coach Dariusz Łomański.
The classes are aimed primarily at amateurs who want to begin their running adventure or simply get some fresh-air exercise.
– We place great emphasis on general fitness exercises designed to help with running or simply make everyday life easier. I know that some people are ashamed or do not have the courage to exercise. The reasons vary: excess weight, spiteful comments from neighbors. This campaign is precisely for them. They can take the first step toward changing their lives through physical activity. Last year, both older people and children attended the classes. It is especially nice when entire families come to exercise together. It really is not difficult, and the effort is adapted to everyone – assures Dariusz Łomański.
The organizers also offer advice to runners who want to prepare for a particular race.
– We also invite more advanced runners, who can improve their running technique through our classes or learn many exercises that will help them improve their personal best and avoid injuries. They can train with us and complete their kilometers before or after our classes. The exercise routines we offer are performed by the best athletes in the country, so it is worth working out, because we often forget that running is not just about running – says coach Krzysztof Kozdra.
The group that took part in the training sessions during the previous edition formed the Bolesławiec Running Club, whose members train together and travel to competitions.
– There are many people in Bolesławiec who run for their health or train because they want to take part in competitions. Thanks to joint training sessions as part of BBL, we became more united and founded the Running Club, to which we invite everyone interested. We travel to competitions together and arrange training sessions. Next Saturday, March 28, we are organizing the first race as part of the County Running League. It is a typical amateur race, and we warmly invite everyone interested. The youngest participants will be able to tackle a distance of approximately 700 meters, somewhat older participants approximately 1,200 meters, and runners in the open category approximately 5 kilometers – says the president of the Running Club, Łukasz Król.
Classes will be held every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. Meeting point: the municipal stadium on Spółdzielcza Street.
