On Wednesday, March 18, volunteer firefighters from Nowogrodziec Municipality put out three fires of wasteland in the municipality. Uniformed services remind residents that burning grass, meadows, pastures and other wasteland is prohibited. It is punishable by a fine, and if it creates a threat to the health and lives of many people and causes major material losses, it is also punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years!
Fires caused by burning grass often spread to nearby forests and buildings. They obstruct traffic and create hazards on roads, leading to collisions and accidents.
