The film was produced by the Ethnographic Museum in Wrocław as part of the project “Lower Silesia. The People, Their Customs, Way of Life, Songs, Music and Dances”. The film focuses on settlers who lived in Lower Silesia, including the Bolesławiec area, after the Second World War, as well as the processes of their adaptation to a new cultural environment and social circumstances. The film presents the lives, customs and musical folklore of newcomers from various parts of Poland and from beyond its borders.
The film screening will be attended by residents of Bolesławiec who came to the city from France after the Second World War. They are another group, following those who arrived from the Eastern Borderlands and from the territory of Yugoslavia, who shaped the culture of Bolesławiec at that time. They, their families and descendants still live here today. It will be an excellent opportunity to meet, share memories and exchange observations. Young people in particular are invited to the presentation and encouraged to learn about local history and the history of Bolesławiec’s residents.
