On 7 March, in the morning, police officers patrolling the town noticed a young man standing next to an open telecommunications manhole. They asked him what he was doing there. The man said that he liked taking morning walks. However, while checking the surrounding area, the officers found... several dozen metres of cables torn out of the telecommunications manhole.
The 27-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County was detained and taken to police custody. What is more, it turned out that the suspect was wanted and was due to go to prison.
The telecommunications cable enthusiast now faces up to 8 years in prison.
