The band Carrantuohill, which has performed music based on Celtic tradition for over 27 years, has given more than 2,500 concerts in Poland and around the world; it has released 14 albums, produced in collaboration with many acclaimed artists, including Anna Maria Jopek, Anna Dymna, Stanisław Sojka, Paweł Kukiz, Anita Lipnicka, Kuba Badach, Robert Kasprzycki, Urszula Dudziak, Krzysztof Ścierański, Marek Raduli, Tomasz Szukalski, Wojciech Karolak and Maciej Balcar.

Carrantuohill has visited Ireland many times, performing at the largest Irish festivals and acquiring the valuable skills of playing “at the source”. Among Carrantuohill’s greatest honors were performances at Claremont McKenna College in California—at the personal invitation of poet Czesław Miłosz—as well as participation in the world’s largest festival in the Celtic music genre, the Guinness Irish Festival in Switzerland.

Carrantuohill’s strength is that the band’s concerts are equally successful in the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub and on the largest festival or theatre stages: Roches de Celtique (France), Dancing with Lunasa (Ireland), Guinness Irish Festival (Switzerland), Cork Folk Festival (Ireland), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Guinness Tour (Russia), Guinness Tour (Germany), Eurofestival (Romania), Trypilskie Koło (Ukraine), Przystanek Woodstock (Poland) and many, many others…

The musicians of Carrantuohill use traditional Celtic instruments: tin whistle, bouzouki, violin, bodhrán, uilleann pipes… and know… almost everything about Celtic music.

Carrantuohill – “Touch of Ireland – The Storm”, CK “Muza”, 21 March, 6:00 p.m.; main hall, tickets PLN 40 and PLN 45.
