Przemysław Filipowicz and his crew, who already have “peron B” to their filmmaking credit, are in the middle of shooting their new film. After overcoming considerable difficulties related to finding equipment, work has got fully underway.
“We will shoot the film in less than a week, which compared with our first film seems like a truly sprinting pace. Hopefully, this will not affect the quality of the acting. As for the image and sound quality, it will definitely be better than last year. We have a very good digital camera, loaned by photographer Leszek Wakuła,” says Przemysław Filipowicz, the director, screenwriter and supporting actor all in one.
“The End of the Wall” will be a short film about violence and aggression. For this reason, the characters use vulgar language. “This film cannot be gentle; the subject matter does not allow it. We do not want to flaunt profanity, because that is not the point. But one “fuck” in the entire film would not be enough to convey even to a small degree the authenticity of this story,” explains Marek Tabor, the main character.
“We want the scenes of violence to look natural. This does not mean that we will immediately start punching each other in the face—everything will be done as safely as possible. But we are not going easy on ourselves,” adds Natalia Szklarska, a supporting actress.
The authors want to encourage viewers to reflect. The way this can be achieved is less important to them; what matters is the effect. Filming gives them enormous pleasure and satisfaction.
The young people have already filmed, among other places, in the Bolesławiec market square, at Forum cinema, and on Piastów and Chrobrego streets. As they themselves admit, the weakest point may prove to be the acting. “The script is not easy to perform, but we will do our best,” says Marek Tabor.
The work of the teenage filmmakers will be possible to assess as early as September, once post-production has been completed. There is a chance that “The End of the Wall” will be broadcast on the local Azart-Sat television channel.
