“My Bosnia” is the story of Polish emigrants to the countries of the former Yugoslavia who, after years of wandering around the Balkans, settled with their Yugoslav families in the area around Bolesławiec.

The play tells the story of a local community living in the Legnica area and nearby towns. As with every local human story, the creators began with simple accounts of the individual biographies of the protagonists, gathered during many hours of conversations and found in old documents, memoirs, recordings and books. These moving events, as well as humorous episodes discovered in this way, became the plot of a new Bolesławiec ballad. The play includes references to Yugoslav history, culture and customs, which are still very much alive in the Bolesławiec area. The greatest challenge for the story is to touch upon the painful chapters in the history of the Balkan nations, which still remain taboo for many.
