– “No gold-plated door handles, no fountain”—that is what Bolesławiec County Head Dariusz Kwaśniewski said about the new headquarters a year ago. Although gold is not the strength of this thoughtfully renovated building, it is not lacking in tasteful design. Shades of grey, monochromatic tones, polished surfaces, fine stone and restrained details have created coherent and intriguing interiors.
As feng shui has maintained for centuries, this is not without significance, but the most important value for future visitors will certainly be the building and its surroundings’ user-friendly functionality. A large car park, convenient entrances, lifts and the rational arrangement of departments. Those departments—statistically visited by the largest number of clients—will be located on the lowest floors, with spacious waiting rooms.
Close, ever closer...
The systematic relocation of departments from the high-rise building and the building on Zwycięstwa Street has already begun. This is quite a challenge and a difficult logistical undertaking, given that the office’s work will not be interrupted. This ambitious plan requires the moves to take place at weekends. But that is a minor inconvenience compared with the reward awaiting staff and visitors in the comfortable, spacious interiors on Armii Krajowej Street. Clients will benefit, since the new office is also accessible to people with disabilities, and access to the busiest departments has been significantly improved. The first tests have been passed, as local residents have already been using the convenient car park for some time.
All departments are to be relocated by the end of March this year.
