Residents of Bolesławiec are invited to participate in commemorations aimed at honoring the Cursed Soldiers, who formed Poland’s post-war independence and anti-communist underground.
Commemoration program
- 12:00 Tropem wilczym: the Cursed Soldiers’ Remembrance Run (clearing in the park on Piastów Street)
- 14:00 Roll call beneath the Kotwica of Fighting Poland, with the participation of the Honor Guard Company of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment (defensive walls, Kubika Street)
- 16:30 Screening of the documentary film “INKA 1946… I Alone Will Die,” directed by Natalia Koryncka-Gruz (CIK “Orzeł,” 17 Chopina Street)
- 14:30–16:00 those interested will have the opportunity to tour the MDK cellars, where the Security Office detention center was located after the war (MDK, 7 Grunwaldzka Street)
Organizers: Bolesławiec Cultural Center–International Ceramics Center, the Szare Szeregi Polish Scouting and Guiding Association troop in Bolesławiec, the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, 62 KS Commando, Bolesławiec Runners’ Club, the Youth Cultural Center in Bolesławiec, NSZZ Solidarność, and the Bolesławiec “Prawy” Association.
