On Sunday, the third Pierogi Festival was held by the sports field in Dąbrowa. Women from seven localities entered the main competition for the tastiest pierogi. Four Rural Housewives’ Associations took part in Sunday’s competition. The women from the other three localities did not reach Dąbrowa because of the strong gusts of wind. Despite this, the main competition of the pierogi festival was successfully held. The taste of the pierogi was judged by a two-person jury – Ryszard Miziniak and Józefina Piętka, who are professional chefs. The jury awarded two first places. They went to the women from the Rural Housewives’ Associations in Łaziska and Dąbrowa. The women from the Rural Housewives’ Association in Dobra took second place. The pierogi prepared by the Rural Housewives’ Association from Bolesławice were awarded third place.

In total, 10,000 pierogi in 17 flavors were eaten at the pierogi festival in Dąbrowa. They included, among others, ruskie, pierogi with meat and hot sauce, cabbage pierogi and fruit pierogi.

The demonstrations of subduing an attacker performed by students of the Kobra School of Security Services in Jelenia Góra attracted considerable interest among the people attending the festival.

The organizers also prepared other attractions. These included artistic performances by children from schools in Dąbrowa and Brzeźnik, as well as a performance by the folk group Jutrzenka. A football match was also played during the festival between the LKS Dąbrowa team and the other pierogi enthusiasts. The match ended in a draw. The pierogi festival ended with a dance party.
