The Social Prevention Team of the Lubin District Police Headquarters is accepting registrations for another edition of the “Safe Woman” prevention program. Registration will continue until February 27, 2015, or until the limit of 100 places is reached. The course will be led by an instructor from the Lubin Krav Maga school; however, this year, for the first time, women will learn the basics of self-defense from another woman—Agnieszka Kazimierów.

We would like to remind you that Krav Maga techniques are based on natural defensive reflexes, which are perfected during training so that, in a real emergency, an attacked woman can avoid injury and respond as quickly as possible. Participants will learn not only how to react quickly, but also how to assess danger correctly, defend themselves appropriately to the attack and control their emotions.

Moreover, on March 19, at the “Muza” Cultural Centre in Lubin, the participants will once again be able to train at the “Pod Muzami” café and learn self-defense in a venue—a place with limited space, a crowd of people and no possibility of quickly moving away from the attacker.

Another meeting outside the gym will be the “High Heels” training session, which will take place on March 26 at the Cuprum Arena shopping centre in Lubin. During it, the women will learn self-defense while wearing less comfortable clothing and shoes.

At the end of the course, as in previous years, the women will take part in training focused on self-defense on public transport. The initiative will also be supported by the Municipal Transport Company in Lubin. The exercises on a bus will be preceded by a month of training in the gym, allowing the women participating in the “Safe Woman” program to test their new skills in real-life conditions.

For the sixth time, the initiative has been placed under the patronage of the Lubin district governor, who funded nine sessions held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 19:30. They will take place from March 3 to 31 in the gymnasium of Primary School No. 5, at 12 Kilińskiego Street in Lubin.

All women interested in free participation in our program are asked to contact us at the following telephone numbers: 76 8406 246 (Monday to Friday, 8:00–15:00), 533 096 118. The number of places is limited; registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
