The students were selected during school-level qualifying rounds. Marta Kolasińska, a student at Gimnazjum No. 3 named after the Home Army in Zgorzelec, became a laureate of the regional stage and was among the competition finalists. The final will be held in March at the Goethe-Institut in Warsaw.

The competition is organized by the Polish Association of Teachers of German. At the provincial stage, students completed tests assessing their knowledge and skills in language proficiency and cultural studies. This year's edition of the competition concerned Austria. The tasks could go beyond A2 level. The laureates of the regional stage were students who scored at least 90%, or 63 out of a possible 70 points. By scoring 66 points, or 94%, Marta Kolasińska achieved the third-best result in Lower Silesia.

The ceremonial presentation of awards to the laureates of the regional stage and thank-you certificates to their supervisors will take place on February 28 in Wrocław. An accompanying event will be an interesting “Kurzfilme” workshop.

Among the laureates of the regional stage from across the country, 113 finalists of the 13th Nationwide German Language Competition were selected. Marta Kolasińska from Gimnazjum No. 3 was also among this group of the best of the best!

All competition participants who take part in the nationwide-stage contest will receive the title of finalist. The laureates who earn the highest number of points will receive the titles of first-, second- and third-place laureate. The nationwide stage will be held at the Goethe-Institut in Warsaw. It will consist of written and oral sections.

The ceremonial presentation of awards to the competition finalists will take place either at the Institute or at the German Embassy.

As early as March 15, Marta, under the supervision of German teacher Kamila Kusy, will travel to Warsaw for the competition final. Congratulations, and we are keeping our fingers crossed for the best possible result!
