The Sundance Film Festival in the United States, whose development and promotion was supported by the outstanding actor Robert Redford, is the world’s largest celebration of independent cinema. At this year’s edition of the event, the Special Jury Prize for Short Films went to “The Object,” directed by Paulina Skibińska, a native of Kowary and a graduate of the Łódź Film School.
The film is, as its creators themselves say, “a creative depiction of a search operation taking place in the space of two worlds—in an icy desert and underwater...” The festival jury recognized the Polish film for its “visual poetry.”
