The programme was very rich and attractive. No one had any reason to get bored. The children and young people had fun, relaxed and went sightseeing.

Friday, the last day of the day camp at Primary School No. 7. “It was really great,” says Paulina, a third-grade primary school pupil. “I like day camps. There was lots of fun and many trips. I liked the food. It’s a shame the holidays ended so quickly.”

Norbert, a fifth-grade pupil, is delighted too. “I would have been bored at home,” he admits. “Here I was able to have fun. I really enjoyed the trip to the zoo.”

More than one hundred children from across the city took part in the day camps organised at Primary School No. 7. A very attractive programme was prepared for them

“We prepared many attractions every day,” says teacher Iwona Smulska. “There were trips, visits to the cinema and plenty of activities on site. No one complained about being bored.”

The day-camp participants went on trips to the zoo and a candy factory in Wrocław, to the Puppet and Actor Theatre in Wałbrzych, to the cinema and to an amusement park. On site, computer activities, games and recreational activities were prepared for them, and they also used the beautiful swimming pool. The other organised day camps at MCK, the “fourth” school and the Special Educational Facilities Complex offered equally attractive and varied programmes.

The city allocated approximately PLN 210,000 to organise winter recreation for children and young people from Legnica. A dozen or so entities received funding, including municipal and cooperative institutions, as well as non-governmental organisations and associations.

The Sports and Recreation Centre, Legnica Culture Centre, Copper Museum, Legnica Public Library, Art Gallery (Open Art Studio) and neighbourhood cultural centres provided Legnica students with many interesting opportunities to spend their free time actively, creatively and safely.
