Lubin police conducted the “Seat Belts” operation on January 29. Its aim is to improve safety on the roads of the city and county. Officers checked 83 vehicles, issued 53 traffic fines (including for not wearing seat belts), and seized 5 registration certificates and one driving licence.

Moreover, that day officers apprehended 1 drunk driver (a crime), 1 driver under the influence of alcohol (a misdemeanour), and a man banned from driving.

Police remind drivers that excessive speed is one of the most common causes of road accidents, while seat belts are the most effective way to ensure safety while driving. Many victims of fatal road accidents could still be alive if they had been wearing seat belts at the moment of the collision.
