Work on the reconstruction of Orła Białego Avenue, on the section from Biała Avenue to Zygmunt Krasiński Street, began at the end of November last year. During the work, the old asphalt surface was removed. The work already completed includes reinforcing the alleys and cycle paths and laying kerbstones. Next, an attractive and comfortable surface made of paving blocks will be laid. Cycle paths will be marked out, and benches, street lamps and waste bins will be installed.
Another drinking fountain with clean running water will appear near the playground. The work will be completed in spring 2015. This section of the avenue will have the same character and surface quality as the section of the main park thoroughfare that was modernised before last year's summer holidays.
The reconstruction of Orła Białego Avenue was divided into two stages. The first involved work on the section from Powstańców Śląskich Street to Biała Avenue. During the 2014 summer holidays, the work was suspended so that Legnica residents and visitors could enjoy the park freely and without disruption.
The work resumed at the end of November.
