On 4 May, firefighters celebrated their holiday. The celebrations began with a mass at the Sanctuary. Afterwards, a solemn ceremony began at the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service. Many guests attended the event. Representatives of the city and county authorities, the commander of the Bolesławiec police, the commander of the military unit, the head of Warta Bolesławiecka Commune and the chair of the county board of the volunteer fire services were present.
During the ceremony, many firefighters were promoted to higher ranks and official positions and received the “Medal of Merit for Firefighting”. The invited guests thanked the firefighters for their commitment to service and their very good cooperation with the local authorities and organizational units in the county. In his speech, the District Commander of the State Fire Service, Grzegorz Kocon, also spoke about the fruitful cooperation between the Bolesławiec fire service, the city and county authorities, and other services. In his view, good cooperation between the fire service and other institutions enables rescue and firefighting operations to be carried out more effectively and allows the fire service to conduct educational activities among children and young people. The commander also thanked Bolesławiec ceramic manufacturing plants for their assistance in organizing the National Firefighting Knowledge Tournament.
