The artist works in drawing, illustration and book design. She is also a co-founder of the informal CMYK artistic group, which focuses on designing unusual books and organising exhibitions of illustrations and artists’ books.
Monika Hanulak has won many prestigious awards in Poland and abroad. Among other distinctions, she received the Bologna Pagazzi Award for the graphic design of Tuwim’s “Poems for Children”. It was the first Polish book to receive an award in the history of this competition.
Monika Hanulak is also the author of the graphic design and illustrations for, among others, the books “Kic-kic kontra generał Gąsienica”, “Debata filozoficzna Królika z Dudkiem o Sprawiedliwości”, based on a text by Leszek Kołakowski, “Pampilio”, based on a text by Irena Tuwim, and “Boucles d′Or et les deux ours”, based on a text by Zidrou, published by the French publishing house Rouergue.
The artist stands out for the expressiveness of her compositions, exceptional precision and outstanding design sense. During the ongoing winter holidays, it is worth visiting this exhibition with children.
