A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday after 10 p.m. on the road to Zgorzelec. The driver of a BMW, 4 km from Lubań (toward Zgorzelec), crossed into the opposite lane and collided with an Opel Astra. The force of the collision was so great that it threw all the BMW passengers out of the car. Two residents of Bolesławiec, a 16-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man, as well as a 16-year-old female resident of Mierzwin and a 19-year-old male resident of Nowogrodziec, died at the scene.
The probable cause of the accident was the BMW's excessive speed.
