Police officers from Bolesławiec carried out the “Truck & Bus” operation. The officers confiscated 38 registration certificates (due to poor technical condition) and issued 47 fines (for speeding and the technical condition of the vehicle).
The officers checked the sobriety of almost 160 drivers. Three of them were driving under the influence of alcohol. The record-holder—a 30-year-old resident of Warta Bolesławiecka commune—had more than 3‰ of alcohol in his breath. A 48-year-old who was driving around Bolesławiec had 1.3‰, while a 25-year-old had 0.4‰. All three had their driving licences confiscated.
In recent years, the number of accidents involving buses and trucks has risen sharply. The preventive “Truck i Bus” operation is intended to improve the safety of road users.
