The crime took place on 2 January this year at one of the casinos in Jelenia Góra. The 21-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra took advantage of a woman’s inattention and stole her car keys, then drove away in the vehicle.
The victim notified the police. She estimated her losses at PLN 5,000.
District police officers found the abandoned car in the Jeżów Sudecki municipality. The vehicle was returned to its owner, and the thief was arrested. The man was taken into police custody. He admitted to the crime.
He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
