Last year, Lubin police officers detained 296 drivers who were driving under the so-called influence of alcohol. Statistically speaking, in 2014 there were few days on which the police did not catch a drunk driver. What is more, the new year is not looking any better in this respect—in the first days of 2015, officers detained five people who were driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police appeal for responsibility, prudence and adherence to a simple rule: Have you been drinking? Don’t drive.
Reminder: driving a car under the influence of alcohol up to 0.5 per mille is an offense punishable by detention or a fine of up to PLN 5,000. Above 0.5 per mille, it is a crime punishable by up to two years in prison. In both cases, however, the driver loses their driving licence.
