Local governments included in the renewable energy ranking are assessed by ZPP experts with regard to the promotion of eco-energy and pro-environmental solutions. The projects assessed include those related to the use of solar, geothermal and hydropower, as well as wind, ambient energy and biomass.
The Nationwide Renewable Energy Ranking has been conducted by the Association of Polish Counties continuously since 2008. It is based on the principle of free and voluntary participation by all local governments at the municipal and county levels. The ranking is the only undertaking of its kind in Poland, managed on an ongoing basis by experts online.
The official announcement of the results, combined with the presentation of certificates, will take place during this year's Regions Congress.
Let us recall that in the overall classification of the most active local governments in the ZPP's annual ranking, Legnica once again took first place.
