On January 11, at around 11 p.m., police officers from Kowary received a report that a window had been smashed at one of the town’s commercial establishments. At the scene, it turned out that someone had broken the shop window. The establishment’s manager stated that cigarettes had been stolen—31 packs in total, worth nearly PLN 440.

The 23-year-old was detained. It turned out that he was also responsible for breaking into another shop in Kowary, an incident that occurred at the beginning of November last year. At that time, the suspect stole—hardly a great surprise—cigarettes and alcohol worth a total of PLN 569.

The man confessed. However, he was unable to explain why he had done it. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
