The incident occurred on the night of January 13–14 in Ścinawa. A resident of the town notified the Lubin police duty officer that a burglar alarm had been triggered in one of the shops.
When the police arrived at the scene, they saw a broken window through which a 40-year-old resident of Ścinawa was climbing out. The man had broken into the shop and stolen alcohol worth more than PLN 600. He was so drunk—his blood alcohol level exceeded 3 per mille—that he did not even notice the uniformed officers.
The 40-year-old was taken into police custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
