Officers from the Criminal Department and the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, together with police officers from Saxony, uncovered a drug-smuggling operation. Then, working with officers from the international “Nysa” group of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec, they intercepted a shipment of marijuana, amphetamine and ecstasy tablets. A 28-year-old Polish man who lived in Germany was also arrested.

The smuggler’s arrest near the Jędrzychowice-Ludwigsdorf border crossing was the result of painstaking operational work. The suspect was caught when, travelling in a BMW with a 28-year-old woman and German registration plates, he attempted to leave the country. In the car, police officers found 2.5 kilograms of marijuana, more than 0.5 kilograms of amphetamine and ecstasy tablets, hidden in the vehicle’s spare wheel. Designer drugs were also discovered. The market value of the seized drugs is over PLN 50,000.
