Following the success of last year’s Three Kings Procession, the parishes of St. John the Baptist in Zgorzelec and St. Wenceslas in Goerlitz are once again inviting residents of both cities to sing carols together and take part in the largest street Nativity play. This time, the colorful procession will set off punctually at 1:00 p.m. from the square in the center of Goerlitz, heading towards the Old Town Bridge and onwards to Zgorzelec.
As last year, students, local-government representatives, animals from Nasze Zoo and, we hope, residents of both cities in numbers as large as last year will take part.
The musical accompaniment for the event will be provided by the Representative Orchestra of the Turów Power Plant, while artistic entertainment will come from Nativity-play scenes prepared by middle- and high-school students. The last of them, The Adoration of the Three Kings, will be performed at the Municipal Cultural Centre. Joint carol singing with municipal folk ensembles, which will begin after this scene, will conclude the Procession AD 2015.
The Polish-German edition of the Procession is being held under the patronage of the Bishop of Legnica, the Bishop of Goerlitz, the Mayor of Zgorzelec, the Lord Mayor of Goerlitz, the Head of Zgorzelec Municipality and the Zgorzelec County Head.
