– We have three artificial ice rinks – says Marcin Zawiła, president of Jelenia Góra. – These are facilities installed at II LO in Cieplice and two “winter Orliks”: at Primary School No. 13 (Piotra Skargi Street) and at the Complex of Comprehensive and Technical Schools (Jana Pawła II Avenue). I hope that after the costly replacement of the so-called cooling mat at the “Orlik” near Primary School No. 13, we will eliminate all the failures occurring there.

He adds: – We have also invested in equipment (40 new pairs of skates were purchased for the rental service). The opening and operation of the ice rinks depend on air temperatures; only for the past few days, due to the persisting sub-zero temperatures, have we been able to launch operations. Previously, the ice-freezing technology did not allow it.

Admission to the Orliks is free; payment applies only to the possible rental of skates (PLN 3/2 hours for young people and PLN 5/2 hours for adults).

Admission to the ice rink at II LO in Cieplice is paid – adults: PLN 10/2 hours (or PLN 5/2 hours for holders of the “Jelenia Góra Large Family Card”).
