Officers from the Criminal Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters determined that a 23-year-old resident of Bolesławiec municipality had been stealing from his employer for a long time. The arrest took place when the suspect was leaving the premises of the company where he worked. He was found carrying 300 euros and PLN 200. The man had stolen the money from the company office.
As it turned out, the 23-year-old had been doing this from January to December 2014. He repeatedly stole company money, as well as grease, engine oils and car accessories, which he later sold.
The man stored some of the goods at his home. When selling the stolen property, he told buyers that, because of his job, he had access to these products at wholesale prices.
The officers recovered some of the stolen property. The company owner estimated the losses at nearly PLN 36,000.
The suspect confessed. He explained that he had spent the money obtained through the crimes on repairing his car and everyday expenses. He now faces up to five years in prison.
