The crime took place at the end of November in one of the apartments in Ścinawa. The 18-year-old resident of Ścinawa stole gold jewellery. Local police took up the case. During the investigation, a man came forward to the officers and confessed to the theft. However, the officers determined that the version of events presented by the alleged thief was not credible.
The real perpetrator of the theft was arrested. It turned out that the 18-year-old knew the officers were already on his trail. Since he had a criminal record, he asked an acquaintance with no criminal record to confess to the crime in his place, offering him money.
The real thief now faces up to five years in prison.
