The arrest took place on October 15, 2014. At that time, officers from the police station in Ścinawa noticed two passenger cars parked on the roadside, with three men standing beside them. When they saw the police car, all three began behaving very nervously. The men quickly got into the vehicles and tried to drive away. The police decided to investigate and checked their identities.
During a search of the car belonging to Paweł D., they found a zip-lock bag containing green dried plant material—no less than around 100 grams. It was established that the substance was marijuana.
D. was charged with possessing a substantial quantity of narcotic drugs. The investigation also established that, since June 2013, the accused had been supplying drugs to at least three people.
The 25-year-old pleaded guilty. He explained that he had bought the drugs for his own use from an acquaintance whose name he did not know. He paid PLN 1,600 for them.
Paweł D. also applied to be allowed to voluntarily submit to punishment. However, the prosecutor did not accept the application because the sentence proposed by the suspect was too lenient in comparison with the social harm of the acts of which he was accused.
D. had previously been convicted of drug possession. He was placed in temporary detention; before his arrest, he was unemployed. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
