Zgorzelec is a beautiful city with a rich and fascinating history. It is worth learning about its past and exploring the architecture of bygone years. The photographs below present the Exhibition of Crafts and Industry, which lasted from June 1 to September 30, 1905.
The eastern part of the city, the area of present-day Polish Zgorzelec, was chosen as the exhibition grounds. The exhibition attracted one and a half million visitors, who admired the work of 1,140 exhibitors. Numerous concerts and outdoor events accompanied the exhibition. One of the attractions organized for guests was balloon rides over the city.
To improve transportation, an additional tram line to the vicinity of the secondary school was launched specifically for the exhibition. Today, we can admire this major event from the beginning of the 20th century on old history cards that survived the twists of fate.
