It is from this spot that a colourful procession led by Santa Claus, elves and snowflakes will set off. It will head to Galeria Piastów, where a Christmas concert will take place. At Galeria Piastów that day, from 1:00 p.m. numerous attractions will await visitors, especially children.
This year, the Market Square will be decorated with a ten-metre Christmas tree in a modern style, while crowns will hang from all the street lamps. Neptune’s fountain will be dressed in lights. Viennese chandeliers will hang from the lamps on Złotoryjska Street and Cathedral Square. Najświętszej Marii Panny Street will be decorated with lotus flowers designed especially for Legnica. The fountain in Powstańców Wielkopolskich Square also features this symbolism. Beside it, guests will be welcomed by a dignified lady named the luminous Grace. This is another new feature this year. In the city centre, visitors will also find a huge peacock with a spread, luminous tail. Walking along Najświętszej Marii Panny Street, it will be possible to pass through the “ball of happiness” to ensure health, prosperity and love for the coming year.
The bridges over the Kaczawa, the viaduct, main traffic routes, the roundabout in Piekary, the most important intersections and the Koziego Stawu island will receive rich Christmas decorations. There will be plenty to see.
It is worth recalling that last year’s Christmas illumination in Legnica was voted the most beautiful in Lower Silesia by internet users.
