– This vehicle was very much needed by us. It will be used for typical firefighting purposes, because none of those we currently have has such a large water-tank capacity or the ability to move efficiently across uneven terrain – says Tomasz Szymczak, chief of the Volunteer Fire Service in Ścinawa.

The new rescue and firefighting vehicle, purchased by Lubin County, is adapted for off-road driving, which will significantly facilitate travel through wetlands, fields, forests and meadows, where the previous Star would simply get stuck.

– I believe that such a vehicle is very much needed by the Ścinawa firefighters. Above all, because it can reach hard-to-access places, of which there is no shortage in Ścinawa Municipality. Especially in rural areas, where there are no suitable access roads – says Krystian Kosztyła, chair of the Lubin County Council.

The new rescue and firefighting vehicle will enable the firefighters to carry out rescue operations more quickly, in which the Ścinawa unit participates very frequently.

– I know that the Ścinawa firefighters take part in rescue operations both in Ścinawa Municipality and beyond its boundaries. They help many people and look after their safety, which is the highest value. I also hope there will not be too many occasions for this vehicle to be deployed on rescue operations, which is what I wholeheartedly wish for them – says Adam Myrda, the Lubin County executive.

The new vehicle cost the County more than PLN 600,000.
