When, on behalf of the Zgorzelec Mandolin Orchestra, we invite you to a concert, it is an unmistakable sign that either spring is about to explode or the holidays are coming… This time, we invite you on 13 December, which means the holidays! Christmas!
On that day, at 5:30 p.m., the hall of the Sports and Recreation Centre on Maratońska Street in Zgorzelec will once again resound with the most beautiful Christmas melodies performed by Zgorzelec’s mandolins. And this year, they will be joined by true luminaries: Alicja Majewska, Włodzimierz Korcz, Olga Bończyk and Zbigniew Wodecki.
There is a reason for this. This year, the Zgorzelec Mandolin Orchestra celebrated its 25th anniversary, and all of this year’s guests at the Christmas concert have already performed with the orchestra during the past quarter-century. It was an exceptionally successful collaboration—for them as well as for the orchestra.
Let’s experience it all once again! The December concert will conclude the celebrations of the ensemble’s 25th anniversary, and its culmination will be the orchestra’s ninth album, which will be handed to the audience on this occasion. It features well-known and popular film themes, as well as works by outstanding composers of popular music, including Cosma, Anderson, Borodin and Jarre…
The orchestra recorded the material for its new album during summer music workshops at the RecPublica recording studio in Lubrza.
Tickets for the concert are already on sale. They can be purchased at the Municipal Cultural Centre at 1 Parkowa Street and at the Sports and Recreation Centre on Maratońska Street. They cost PLN 20.
