The attempted cigarette smuggling took place last week. The resident of Bolesławiec hid 1,500 packs of cigarettes in various parts of the car. Specially constructed compartments were used for this purpose. The resident of Bolesławiec wanted to cross the border into Germany in the vehicle prepared this way. Border Guard officers in Zgorzelec uncovered the smuggling attempt. The resident of Bolesławiec was supposed to leave the car in one of the parking lots in Goerlitz. There, it was to be taken care of by other people.
