The Municipal Cultural Centre in Kowary, the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications, and the organizers of the “Kino za Rogiem” project invite you to the opening of the cinema in Kowary, which will take place on Friday, November 28, at the Kowary MOK (2 Szkolna Street). The event begins at 12:00.

The creators of the “Kino za Rogiem” project about the initiative:

We believe in the magic of cinema—the special experience of watching a film in a dark cinema auditorium together with other people. We are pleased by the technological revolution in cinematography, and we admire modern cinemas and contemporary film-screening standards. On the other hand, however, we see that today’s cinema has become entertainment primarily for large cities and that it does not reach a huge number of film lovers.

It does not have to be this way.

The idea behind the Kino za Rogiem project is to create a new philosophy of cinema that draws on a longing for an intimate community and the idea of cinema for friends. Our intention is to build a network of small cinemas that are inexpensive to operate and maintain, yet retain the most important advantages of modern multiplexes, particularly digital image and sound quality. Kino za Rogiem venues are primarily multimedia rooms adapted for use as small cinemas, created within existing public and private infrastructure in cultural centres, libraries, schools, educational and sports facilities, fire stations, sanatoriums, clubs, or cafés.
