Mariusz Trzeciakiewicz, president of the Na Rzecz Rozwoju Audiodeskrypcji “Katarynka” Foundation, spoke before the screening about various techniques for experiencing art and film, including audio description. These techniques are intended to introduce blind and visually impaired people to a world of visual details conveyed through sound. The sign language interpreter was Monika Maj. One of the foundation’s main objectives is to eliminate barriers and enable people with visual and hearing impairments to participate actively in culture in its broadest sense.
The screening was organized jointly with the Na Rzecz Rozwoju Audiodeskrypcji “Katarynka” Foundation. The event took place as part of the first edition of the “ADAPTER Festival. Film Without Barriers,” with the support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The Mayor of Bolesławiec, Piotr Roman, assumed patronage over the screening.
