– The threat to the commune’s continued existence is so enormous that we are setting our disputes aside – says commune head Irena Rogowska. – I decided to invite my opponents in the election, Mr Tadeusz Maćkała and Ms Wanda Dobrzyńska, to cooperate.

Below is commune head Rogowska’s statement, published on the Commune’s website:

Like most residents, we are united by one goal – we want the commune to remain a commune, rather than become part of the city!

The first round of the election showed that most residents do not want our commune to be abolished.

However, they want a broader perspective on the commune’s affairs, so I guarantee my recent opponents, now my allies, that during the next term I will implement their election program on an equal footing with my own program for the commune’s development.

However, in order to carry out plans, conduct investments and develop the commune, it must simply exist!

We are uniting forces against the city’s dictate – we want to remain masters in our own home and make our own decisions.

I am not afraid of responsibility for the fate of our commune – nor am I afraid of confronting the representative of the city establishment.

On 30 November 2014, the municipal company’s vice-president will not take office [chodzi o Tadeusza Kielana, kontrkandydata wójt Rogowskiej w drugiej turze wyborów – przyp. „ii”]– because voters will not allow it! All my voters, and those of Mr Tadeusz Maćkała and Ms Wanda Dobrzyńska. Together, we will defend the commune!
