The Chapter of the Lower Silesian Council for the Support of Talented Students, chaired by the voivodeship marshal, decided to award 55 scholarships this year. Among the competition winners was Krzysztof Łukasiewicz, a graduate of Primary School No. 20 in Legnica, who achieves outstanding results in science and also in chess (he is the Polish junior chess runner-up).
The laureate is also Marcin Nahajowski, a graduate of Lower Secondary School No. 5 in Legnica, for whom learning holds no secrets. Patryk Mauer, a graduate of Lower Secondary School No. 2 in Legnica and an exceptionally talented athlete who is captain of Poland’s youth handball team, was also among the winners.
All of them were awarded Legnica presidential scholarships as early as 1 September this year.
Tadeusz Krzakowski presented the students and their parents with letters of congratulations. He thanked them for the students’ achievements and for the tremendous work of their parents and teachers. “Behind your success are talent, commitment and tremendous hard work. You testify to the wisdom and diligence of Legnica’s young people. You make the city’s substantial expenditure on education the most effective investment in people,” the president said.
