On 18 November, the Poland and Switzerland national teams will face each other in a friendly match at the municipal stadium in Wrocław. Young footballers training at Sparta Zebrzydowa will lead both teams onto the field.
We received confirmation from the Polish Football Association that the players will be led onto the pitch by boys training at Sparta Zebrzydowa, as well as players from the “Sukces” Women’s Football Academy of Gmina Oleśnica. This is a huge distinction for our club and for our boys! We have been trying to arrange this for more than two years. Before every national-team match, we submitted applications and wrote requests, but there are always so many applicants that it was difficult to believe it would ever happen. Fortunately, thanks to the personal support of the President of the Lower Silesian Football Association, Mr Andrzej Padewski, our players’ dreams will come true. On 18 November, the boys who train every day in Sparta Zebrzydowa’s Orlik and junior teams will have the opportunity to walk onto the pitch and sing the national anthem together with Szczęsny, Lewandowski and the rest - Dariusz Zdunek of Sparta Zebrzydowa wrote in an email to the Istotne.pl editorial office.
Sparta received 24 free tickets for the match, and 11 boys between 125 and 134 cm tall will lead the players onto the pitch. The remaining boys, recognised by their coaches for their attendance and commitment during training, will sit in the stands with their guardians.
