This year, the Run’s route has been made more varied. Participants will complete four 1,300-meter laps. Competitors will start outside the OSiR headquarters on Najświętszej Marii Panny Street, then run along Szpitalna and Środkowa streets, around the Cathedral and along NMP Street. The organizers have set the starting limit at 300 people. Everyone who completes the Run will receive a commemorative medal, while the best competitors in their categories will be honored with cash prizes. Trophies will be awarded in the open category.

The opening ceremony promises to be very impressive. Ninety-six torches will be lit, and the national anthem will be sung by their light. Volunteers carrying torches will then move onto the Run route to light the way for the competitors, demonstrating the significance of the Independence Day celebrations.

The musical backdrop during the first part of the event will consist of melodies and insurgent songs, followed in the second part by contemporary popular music performed by the VIP band.

In connection with the organization of the Independence Run on November 10, from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m., traffic disruptions will occur on Środkowa, Paderewskiego and Młynarska streets. The Run’s organizer apologizes to all motorists and asks for patriotic understanding.

Volunteers are asked to report their participation in the torchlight guard along the Run route in person at the OSiR headquarters. Each volunteer will receive an attractive practical package from the organizer. Information and registration for runners are available at www.osir.legnica.pl, under the Independence Run tab. The entry fee is PLN 20, and for those under 18 it is PLN 5.

The organizers will provide all Run participants and volunteers with goose-meat stew. They also remind participants that race numbers can already be collected on Friday at the OSiR headquarters at 7 NMP Street, as well as on Monday.
