There is a catch with this cinema, however: this week there are no afternoon screenings at PozieNova. In return, before noon, as part of the New Horizons Film Education project, we are exceeding the target by 200 percent :). Every day we show two screenings for schools from throughout Zgorzelec County.
This week is also a time for training members of electoral commissions. Yes, indeed... The elections are already on 16 November. And apart from Monday, we are also hosting training on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Teatr Króla from Łódź is coming to the Lusatian Neisse for guest performances. Here, it will present special preventive plays for students from Zgorzelec schools. Also on Tuesday, though in the evening, friends from the Polish-German Tandem discussion group will meet here once again. They start at 6:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, there will be another lecture by the Cross-Border University of the Third Age. It starts at 11:00 a.m.
Thursday will pass under the sign of training sessions for members of electoral commissions, as we have already mentioned. Friday, on the other hand...
On Friday, we have a major event under the green dome: a preventive conference on AIDS, organised by the District Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Zgorzelec.
On Saturday morning, allotment gardeners from the Malinka gardens have arranged to meet here. And in the evening... “Tuwim: Lyrical and More”.
We warmly invite you to the performance “Tuwim: Lyrical and More”, which will take place on Saturday, 8 November. Two actors – Piotr Machalica and Piotr Borowski – have taken on quite a challenge: interpreting the works of one of Poland’s greatest poets, Julian Tuwim. The artists themselves arranged the repertoire from the poet’s works and assure us that the show will be atmospheric, but also humorous. They will be accompanied on the piano by Agnieszka Garniewicz. The whole performance will last approximately 70 minutes. Julian Tuwim’s admirers need no persuading to attend. The undecided may be drawn by the names Machalica and Borowski, because they are a class act in their own right. We warmly invite you. 8 November, 6:00 p.m., tickets: PLN 25.
For Sunday, we have a special invitation to the cinema. At 4:00 p.m., we will show the documentary film “Gulbinowicz”. The film was made to mark the 90th anniversary of the birth of Cardinal Priest Henryk Gulbinowicz. It offers us the opportunity to learn the story of an extraordinary man, filled with goodness and love for his fellow human beings—a man who made enormous contributions to Poland and Lower Silesia. In the film, the cardinal priest will talk about his childhood, teenage years, studies and pastoral work. We will learn what shaped him and where his vocation came from. We will visit the places that had the greatest influence on his life and hear the stories connected with them. Together, we will travel to Rome and the Vatican and see what the protagonist’s life looks like today.
You are welcome.
